HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
Hospital Chaplains serve the organization of a hospital, looking after the needs of both patients and hospital staff. They are often present to serve and encourage grieving families, as well as individuals who are experiencing a crisis. The individuals that a Hospital Chaplain speaks to on a daily basis, come from a variety of religious backgrounds. Therefore, tje Hospital Chaplain must be trained to relate to each individual without religious basis.

Hospital Chaplain duties include:

Carrying out the goals of the spiritual care department.
​
Organizing worship services.
​
Offering religious and spiritual guidance to patients/residents/clients as required by follow-up guidance.
​
Regularly visits patients daily, giving priority to those in greatest need.
​
Is available to serve the families of deceased patients/residents/clients as required by follow-up guidance.
​
Establishes positive working relationships with all members of the health care team as well as with volunteers.
